Survival Following Pediatric Trauma

• Survival is poor in pediatric trauma patients who suffer a cardiac arrest and require CPR
• Indicators of worse outcome (poorer survival) among pediatric trauma patients include:
  • Penetrating trauma
  • Comatose at time of admission
  • Systolic BP of less than 60 mm Hg
