Spinal Cord Injuries

Immediate treatment of spinal cord injuries includes:

  • Support ABCs, administer oxygen
  • Stabilize neck using age- & size-appropriate method
  • Once hypovolemic shock has been ruled out, neurogenic shock can be treated with cautious fluid resuscitation and vasopressors to maintain age-appropriate BP
