Gastric Decompression

On occasion, ventilation can be impaired by gastric distension. The stomach can be distended with blood or with gas entrained during bag-mask ventilation. This can be relieved by the insertion of an orogastric tube. The appropriate size for each age can be found on the Broselow Tape.
