These deaths are generally due to:
- Epidural hematoma
- Subdural hematoma
- Hemo/pneumothorax
- Intra-abdominal bleeding
- Pelvic/femur fractures
- Multiple long bone fractures
These deaths may be prevented by prompt identification and treatment of these injuries within the "golden hour"
