  • Spinal Cord Injury With Out Radiolographic Abnormality
  • Due to stretching of elastic ligaments & stretching of cord
  • Accounts for up to 70% of spinal cord injuries in children
  • Most common in children < 8 years of age
  • Symptoms may be immediate or delayed for 4-5 days
  • Changes can be seen on MRI but not on plain films
  • Steroid therapy is commonly used
  • Complete recovery is likely (unless cord is transected)
