Ongoing Assessment During Transport

  • Adequacy of airway, oxygenation, ventilation and perfusion (resuscitation)
  • Signs of ongoing occult blood loss such as tachycardia, hypotension, decreased urine output, distending abdomen
  • Changes in level of consciousness as possibile indications of hypoxia, shock or intracranial injury
  • Temperature maintenance should be prioritized and can be achieved using space blankets, warm blankets, warm IV fluids, forced air warmers such as Bair Hugger
