IO Needle Setup

• Three-way stop cock in line with the IO needle helps in "syringing" fluids and blood rapidly
• Warming of IV fluids and blood products is desirable to prevent hypothermia
• Movement of the extremity or the patient may result in dislodgement of the IO needle, thus proper fixation of the needle is mandatory
