Therapy for Submersion

• Early establishment of effective ventilation is the key to resuscitation of submersion victims
• Prevention and correction of hypothermia should be accomplished simultaneously
• Attempts to remove water from the child's lungs by chest compressions or suction are not associated with improved clinical outcome
